I maintain internet stores at both Cafepress and Zazzle to sell my cartoons, caricatures and cartoon logos on retail products. The inconsistency between Cafepress and Zazzle often bewilders me. Each has occasionally taken their turn at removing items from my store, supposedly as copyright infringement, but it appears they sometimes just overreact more from paranoia. But each has also accepted images that were rejected by the other. If I've learned anything, it's to not give up. When one chickens out of accepting an image then the other will likely accept it.

This 'Pure Michigan' bumper sticker is only the most recent of my cartoons to be handled differently by the servers. Cafepress accepts it, Zazzle does not. Creative Quickies On Twitter

I opened a Twitter account a couple years ago but never really started using it. At the time, I seemed to have everything covered without it. But since I ditched Facebook, and since Twitter now easily allows posting images, I have begun displaying my art on Twitter @creativequickie. Twitter only accepts 15 characters in user names so I had to drop the 's' from the end of mine. Otherwise, it's the same name. I only post fun stuff, with an occasional announcement when I run business related specials, and I never collect information or spam anyone. Stop by. I left a light on for you.

The Cartoonist Turns 62

Jumping From My Own Birthday Cake

Normally I never bother with such things as my birthday, but this one is significant. I just became eligible to retire and draw Social Security. As recently as 5 years ago, my plans were to retire today. But then I started this gosh-darn business of drawing caricatures, cartoons, cartoon logos and cartoon advertisements. So for now I no longer have any retirement plans. It's going to be a quiet birthday, though. My wife will be taking me to dinner and a movie. She told me she won't jump out of a cake for me, though, so I'll have to jump out of it myself.

Which, by the way, also demonstrates the ability to use my caricatures in custom greeting cards.

I had a Facebook account for several years, including a dedicated page titled 'Creative Quickies' for displaying my artwork. I even payed for ads on Facebook to promote my business.
